The Food Consultancy is an independent consultancy on food and consumer affairs run by Diane McCrea.

Diane has worked as an independent consultant since 1997, undertaking a range of projects for consumer groups, research and professional bodies. She is involved in EU-funded research projects and co-ordinated the FoodBRAND consumer workshop. She has recently worked as a consultant to the FAO Secretariat of the Pan-European Conference on food quality and safety and, to the EC (DG Research) on an assessment of the FLAIR-FLOW Europe project. She is currently working with BEUC (the European Consumers’ Association Organisation) on its EU-funded Consensus workshops project - (www.consensusworkshops.org).

Role in project:
• Attend and contribute to management meetings throughout the course of the project
• Input NGO and consumer organisation input in to the design and execution of studies and the interpretation of the findings
• Produce brochure for NGOs/consumer organisations detailing the results from the research
• Incorporate guidelines on organic regulation into the NGO and the industry brochures
• Present consumer perspective at the dissemination workshops
